All were repositioned allowing for the ground to be leveled and sloped for proper drainage. A QHVA volunteer who expertly managed the project was Roger Clay. It gently flows as it did in days long ago. And a great deal of time and energy was put into getting the original water feature in the rock garden up and running. Some repairs are still needed but plans to rectify that situation will be forthcoming in 2023. A butterfly garden, and the beds around the house and gift shop have been groomed and new flowers have been added. The photography dark room, original to Minnie Taylor’s manor house design, was to be a unique and delightful gift to Harry II. However, his hobby was curtailed as the chemicals and silver were no longer available during the war years. Now back on the property thanks to generosity of the current Stewart family. While designing the home Mrs Stewart planned for a beautiful flower garden outside. Incorporating the downstairs flower room enabled her to share the beauty throughout the home.
